It's getting close!

Oh, it's a very exciting time.

You know it's almost time when you see the sign going up.

Men on ladders and with fire trucks.  Right at the end of your driveway!

Every one stops and watches.

The same sign has been in use for years.  They just change the number.

This is the forty-fifth year and the sign is always in the same place.  Right at the end of our driveway.

So get on highway 56 and head towards Beersheba Springs.

It's very simple to find us.  All you have to do is turn in under the sign!!

They're almost finished.

It's a fun thing to watch.

And there you have it.  Come to the 45th annual Beersheba Springs Arts & Crafts Fair!!!

Lot's of people will be here.

You know you want to come.

Hope to see you then.

Remember, just turn in under the sign.

See you soon,
Tommye

Another corner of my world

It really wasn't all my fault.  I meant to post yesterday.  My intentions were good, but when I finally got around to it, blogger was down!  So here is yesterday's post.

Here are a few of the whites that we have for sale here at Mountain Home.

White platters, plates and milk glass.  A few vintage tablecloths and aprons.

The paintings of the little houses in the background are actually done on two cabinet doors my friend Melody gave me.  The bricks have painted churches on them.  They were given to me by my friend Carol.
Ah, friends what would you do without them.  They are a source of so much joy (as well as wonderful
art supplies).

Here you have some of my white hydrangea painted glassware.

Vases for a bouquet of your favorite white flowers.

A set of eight wine glasses

More vases and a beautiful serving bowl just great for a salad.

I had a wonderful day with my daughter Angie yesterday.  Time spent with family is such a blessing.  I have recently had the opportunity to spend a day with each of my girls.  Marney took a few days off from work.  We too had a perfectly lovely day lunching and shopping.  Two different days, two different daughters, two different lunch spots, but each of them was absolutely perfect.  I am so blessed to have two such wonderful girls.  They are not only my daughters, they are also my friends.  Even though they both live relatively close and I see them fairly often,  I still miss them so.

Here is to hoping you have the time and opportunity to spend with people you love.

Hope to see you soon,
Tommye

I am joining Kathleen at Faded Charm for White Wednesday.  Be sure to check out some of the other posts.  Lots of great ideas and thing to see!

Just a bit more fall.

Fall Table

Just a short post today.  In keeping with my "I'm really going to try to post every day" vow.
This is another one of my fall displays.  I try to use different heights to add interest.

A great old picnic basket that I painted white daisies and a butterfly on top.

A sweet "Autumn Welcome " sign

Some beautiful white china in the Simplicity pattern

Carolina berry rings and garlands

A place setting on each layer of the stand with a few pumpkins tossed in.

I have four place settings and they are in perfect condition.

A little bitty pumpkin.

A hand painted pumpkin window.  I found  the idea in an old magazine given to me by my sweet friend Drema.  It was a hooked rug.  Now it is a painting!

Signs, signs every where signs!

Hope you have enjoyed this fast and furious post.

They say one picture is worth a thousand words.  I certainly hope so.
I've got to get busy.  I just can't seem to get this shop to rearrange itself!!!
Hope to see you tomorrow.

Getting Ready!

Can you believe it is almost here?

Fall is quickly on it's way.

I
I wanted to give you a few peeks of what we have in store.

I absolutely love the table I found.  I'd keep it my self, but it doesn't match my house!

Don't you  just love the lighted pumpkins?

And the star cut outs would make them usable through Thanksgiving!

Wonderful fall wreaths.  Orange.

Gold.

Burgundy.

Just a little taste of things to come.

Look for more tomorrow!

See you soon!

Tea towel and pillow case pillow tutorial

I know, I have been gone too long!
My only excuse is that I have been working very hard.
I thought you might like to see how I turn a pillow case or tea towel into a pillow.

I begin by ironing the tea towel or pillow case flat.
I am working hear with a vintage tea towel.
Iron the towel flat and fold the bottom up.  Here you will have to use your own judgement.  Fold the bottom up and the top down and adjust so that you can get the largest pillow possible and have the largest flap possible to make your pillow pretty.

Starting at the left bottom corner, begin to sew and then back stitch.  Continue sewing up the left side.

Turn the corner and stitch across the top.
The design you are viewing hear should be the wrong side.  When you have finished, this part will flip down and you will see the right side.

Continue across the top and turn the corner going down the right hand side.  Stitch down only part of the way.  Leave enough room to be able to stuff the pillow.

Leave the needle down, inserted into the fabric.  With the needle in place, begin to stuff the pillow.
Here, it might be a good idea to either turn off your machine, or move your foot far away from the foot pedal.  You wouldn't want to sew a finger!

Stuff your pillow with fiberfill.  Being sure to fill corners.
Stuff gently so you will have as few wrinkles as possible.

When your pillow is stuffed just the way you like, it is time to finish sewing down the right side.
Tuck the fiberfill back out of your way a little.  Remember, your needle is still down, inserted in your pillow.

Gently, but firmly, pull the two halves of the pillow together.
You may have to hold the pillow behind  the needle also.
Sew the pillow down the right hand side.

Holding the pillow together as best you can.

Continue to the corner.

And back stitch.  Clip your threads and flip down the top and you are finished.

There you have it, a pillow with one seam in about ten minutes.

You can turn out lots of these very quickly.

Finding the pillow cases and tea towels will be your most difficult job.

I hope you have enjoyed this little tutorial.
I have been very busy getting ready for fall.  Unfortunately, I have let my posting slide.

I will try to post new items each day if I can at all.
The shop is looking just wonderful!  We now have two Christmas rooms and two fall areas.  Our big arts and crafts festival that is held within walking distance of the shop is only three weeks away.  Three weeks????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still so much to be done!!!!!!  But less than yesterday.
Hope to see you soon!

Love you all,
Tommye
