A Taste of Autumn

It's that time of year again.  Sunny days with just a hint of chill in the air, cool nights, turning leaves and pumpkins everywhere.

Our annual "Taste of Autumn" event is coming up this
Saturday, September 27.  Hours are from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Come to the mountains and enjoy a wonderful day.  The leaves are just beginning to turn and fall is in the air.  We will have Raven's original products to sample, including Chili Grande, Raven's original cheese ball and spiced cider.  We will have eight different Wind & Willow products for you to sample!  White Chocolate Cherry, White Chocolate Amaretto, Caramel Apple, Pumpkin Pie, Brick Oven Pizza, BLT, Farmer's Market, and Rosie's Cantina cheese balls.
We will also have fresh apples, sweet potatoes and Indian Corn.

We are expecting a shipment of wonderful new fall scarves and something new, Solmate Socks.
Just wait until you see the scarves!  Beautiful fall colors!! And the socks,  you'll just have to see them!!  They are mismatched, intentionally.  Socks woven in four or five wonderful colors that are alike, but different.  Check back later for a look at our scarves and socks.

There will be a drawing for a door prize at 11:00 and again at 2:00.  You do not have to be present to win, but you do have to come and register.

Just a small preview of some of the things we have in store.

Pumpkins, painted canvases, pumpkin butter and pumpkin cheese balls.

Pumpkin wreaths and painted canvases.

Fall signs.

Beautiful burlap!!

Angie's scarves are to arrive on Tuesday and our socks after that.  (They are coming from exotic places, like Ohio and Vermont.)

Check the blog or watch your Facebook if we are friends.  If we're not, why not?

Got to go for now, lots to do.
Be sure to come!!!

We promise lots of wonderful things to taste and best of all, it's free.

48th Annual Beersheba Springs Arts and Crafts Fair - This Saturday and Sunday August 23 - 24

It's time for the Crafts Fair in Beersheba Springs again!
If you have never been to the crafts fair, then you really should come!!
The event is held inside the United Methodist Assembly campgrounds in beautiful downtown Beersheba Springs.

If you have never been here before, watch for this sign.

You'll know you are here.

If you are coming from McMinnville, there is a large field to your right for parking.
There will be lots of our great guys from the mountain to direct you to a spot.

As you can see, there is a drive way on the left just off the main road.  As luck would have it, this is our driveway.  If you want to visit Mountain Home Gifts, turn here.   If there has not been too much rain, there is some parking available behind our house.

If you are coming from the Altamont direction, you will turn right in under our sign to reach our home and gift shop.

In addition to having a great gift shop for your enjoyment, we also serve lunch on Saturday starting around 11:00.  This year's menu is as follows:

The wedding

I'm finally getting around to posting pictures of the wedding.  Our son, John-Thomas married his sweetheart, Katy on May 24.  It was a wonderful night, a beautiful wedding.  They chose to marry here at our home.  We were so pleased.  I think the wedding was gorgeous.  I'll let you judge for your self.

Katy and John-Thomas made vanilla extract as a gift for their guests.  Katy's mom made these wonderful cookies using the vanilla.
(I would love, love, love to have the recipe.  Everyone raved!)

S for our last name.  Angie stripped her roses for this.  Now that's love.

Peggy McMurray, her husband Mike and my beautiful mom.

 John-Thomas and Brent (above)
Katy and her handsome father Bill (below)

My grandson Scottie, my beautiful daughter Marney, my granddaughter Chelsie, and my son-in-law John.

These are quite jumbled up.  The sequence is not right, but I think you get the idea.  The wedding began at 7:00 central time.  It was still light and in the beginning it was all about the garden and the flowers.  Then as we had dinner, it began to be about the lighting.  We moved the piano to the screened in porch.  Our friend Peggy played for us.  The cake was also on the screened porch.  When it came time to cut the cake every one could see from the garden.

Isn't my son handsome.  Yes, he's a hat guy.  It was Katy's request that he wear it.  As John-Thomas said to me "Isn't she beautiful mom?"  They are a perfect match and we could not be happier.  The minister is a dear friend of ours.  This was Brent's first wedding.  John-Thomas wrote the vows.  The wedding went beautifully.  And now, as the saying goes, it is our wish that they live happily ever after.

Today is a special day for our family.  Six years ago, on June 7, our oldest daughter Angie married her true love John.  I became a mother-in-law and a grandmother on the same day. John is the best son-in-law I could ask for and Scottie and Chelsie are my own sweet grand children.  Happy Anniversary!!!

Life is sweet and God is so good!

Forgive my prideful rambling.  I promise to get back to work next week.

Hope to see you soon.

I couldn't resist.  ( Even more pictures.)

(Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.)
